The 4-biome progression gives a clear boss priority. Here's the order for a first-time player.
1. Giant (Forest Stage 8/8)
Lowest-level boss (Lv 25, 90 HP). Pummel, Roar, Skewer are manageable for any level 8-12 party. Defeating it unlocks Elf race. Always engage.
2. Piloted Hearth Monarch (Dwarven Mines Stage 7/7)
Mid-tier boss (Lv 60, 129 HP). Steam stack mechanic punishes unprepared parties. Strategy: avoid Steam buildup (Fire damage) or burst before Mountain Shaker trigger. Defeating it unlocks Dwarf race, Steam Engine Boon, Steam Conversion Boon. Engage if party is level 20+.
3. Scientist (Sewers Stage 5/5)
ADD-clearance boss (Lv 40, 85 HP). Kill Mutants first or take 90% reduced damage to the Scientist. Toxin X ticks exponentially — short fights only. Defeating it unlocks Decaying Soul. Engage if party is level 15+ and you have AOE.
4. Bone Drake (Dungeon Stage 12/12)
Endgame boss (Lv 100, 250 HP). Dreadlord's Call on Turn 1 cannot be blocked or dodged. Banefire ticks are uncleansable. Strategy: stack HP, bring Cleansing Boon, accept attrition. Defeating it unlocks Death's Dance Boon, Withered Race (if Cycle of Death prerequisites met). Engage only with optimized build and full HP.
Skip Pattern
New players should skip the Sewers on the first run. The Sewers' Toxin X mechanic punishes fights that drag, and the Scientist's Toxic Aura punishes ADD-heavy comps. The Sewers are a side-zone for experienced players.
